Cousin Time

My fabulous Aunties from Kansas are here in town to visit for the week, and so we had some fun family time today. Here are just a few of my many wonderful cousins. I suppose taking pictures on my grandma's deck stairs has become a tradition, because here is another almost identical picture from like, ten years ago.

You are stuck with your family forever, so it's a pretty darn good thing I happen to like them all so much.

I Don't Even Know

+I have been absolutely loving the sunshine lately. I always get excited about the year's first sunburn. I would say tan, but I seem to lack that ability, so alas, sunburn it is.

+My awesome, crazy aunties from Kansas are coming to visit next week and I can't wait! Also Shelby, my best friend gets home from her mission on August 22nd, which I am anxiously awaiting.

+I beat Paper Mario for the Nintendo 64 today, that may be a mildly nerdy confession. I hardly ever play video games, so the fact that I actually beat one is a feat indeed.

+The above picture is of my hubby and I last week when we were out shooting our guns. He is the handsomest human being.

+Does anyone else out there watch 'Once Upon A Time'? As long as I can remember anything produced by ABC has always been unbearably cheesy, but feel-goody, much like all the Hallmark Christmas movies. Once Upon a Time certainly fits the cheesy, feel-goody mold, but for that reason I am just eating it up. Sometimes I watch like ten episodes in one day. I try to assure myself that's healthy.

+Whelp, that's all I have in my brain today for y'all.

A Bit of an Update

For the past few weeks I was stuck in a time-sucking vacuum where I, well, had no time to do anything of the recreational variety and unfortunately blogging is recreational for me, so yeah. Let me update you on what has happened to me recently that's worth noting.

I graduated from my CNA course. Which was awesome, but also kind of terrible. The class was the reason I had no life for about three straight weeks, but it was well worth it. My classmates were great and hilarious which made the whole experience slightly less painful.

These two lovely ladies came over to my house for a much needed girl's night. Because what better combo is there on a Saturday night than pizza and estrogen?

The hubby and I escaped this weekend to Park City and we got to stay at this way cool resort that had a pool with a waterfall. We listened to John Denver on our drive there, and might I just say that John Denver is the perfect soundtrack for that particular drive - or really for any drive.

And to top everything off I've begun my half marathon training which both excites and frightens me. Hopefully I am able to sufficiently prepare myself. It has always been a fear of mine to be the last person to cross the finish line at a race. I have this irrational fear that I'll get to the end and they'll be taking down the finish line and everyone will have already gone and left and it'll just be me... the loser at the back of the pack. Not that there's anything wrong with coming in dead last, I just don't want to it to be me, ya know?
