Feliz Navidad

Admittedly, we did get a little bit over-eager about Christmas this year and have already set up our tree and bought a good chunk of presents (and even wrapped them!). I'm usually the type of person that shuns anything Christmas until the week of Thanksgiving, but for this year I got really excited because hey, this is the first year I get my very own tree in my very own place. Also we are going out of town for half of December so I felt justified setting it up early so we would have time to relish in our lovely décor.

So don't judge me, is what I'm really saying.

For those of you newlyweds out there that are looking for a nice, yet affordable tree, I suggest your local Wal-Mart. We bought this 6.5 ft beauty, pre-lit I might add, for only 39 buckaroos. That's a steal if you ask me.

Since I am housebound today due to my wisdom teeth removal, I have decided I am going to work on this project.

Isn't that a lovely tree skirt? I really want to make one and since there is so much burlap left over from my wedding all I really need is to go get some red fabric. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Here's the tutorial I'm going to follow, found via pinterest, in case any of you wants to make one too!http://adirectedheart.wordpress.com/2012/12/03/so-you-like-my-tree-skirt/
