The Bayou

My dearest dream is to visit the bayou.

I know to most this humble...shack. Wouldn't appeal. But for me, nothing says adventure like riding around in a fan boat through swampy waters, battling off crocodiles, and then later relaxing on a dock, eating gumbo and watching the fireflies flicker around through the night.

It's like on Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, when you first hop onto those little boats, and you set sail into the murky water and you gently ride past that lonely man playing his harmonica. In the bayou.

Oh honey. That's going to be me someday.

My auntie Terilyn is actually moving to New Orleans within the next year or so to get her doctorate. I'm totally going to stay with her for a summer. I honestly cannot go through life without riding on one of these babies:

Although I can't exactly say I'll be going with Crazy Al's Fan Boat Rides (see above).

Somehow, someway, someday. I'm headin down south. And I'll probably bring a banjo and overalls with me too just for good measure.
