Too Cool for School

At long last I have been freed from school. SPRING BREAK. Liberation.

Every mornin I wake up, and before I put on my makeup - I summon every ounce of will power that I have to get up and go to school. I then somehow manage to summon even more will power after that to actually stay at the school once I get there. This is a serious problem guys. My friend Ben basically talks me out of ditching psychology every other day by guilt tripping me as follows:

"But then I'll be all alonnneee." *narrowed eyes, pouty lips*

Thanks a lot homeboy. I guess I have to go to fourth period now.

Not that I am a periodic sluffer/ditcher, or whatever you kids call it these days. But I guess you could just say I've caught the epidemic going around as of late - Senioritis. Big news there. I'm sure you're all familiar with the term and its effects.

I kind of feel like life is dragging on lately, ya know?

I need some excitement in my life.

I came across a quote the other day by Sister Hinkley that cheered me up a bit though -

"The trick is to enjoy life. Don't waste your days away, wishing for better ones ahead."

Hallelujah sista Hinkley, you are a genius. I seriously need to take your advice.

Also there is a country song that says something to the effect of:

"You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back. You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so faaaassst. These are some good times..."

So ya. I get that never again will I be a high school senior who has no serious obligations or responsibilities and is free to go and do as I choose. And one day when I'm paying a mortgage and changing diapers I will wish that I could go back to these times. Or at least that's the message I got from that country song.

So cheer up Charlie.

It's SPRING BREAK. And I am going to have the TIME. of. my. LIFE.

Partying it up.

At Goblin Valley.

The land of unlimited energy where a girl like me can run around and climb rocks for hours and not get at all tired. And also roast marshmallows and dance to Queen songs back at camp once it gets dark.

Good times.

p.s. Snow. Please stop.

  1. LOVE Goblin Valley. My family's going to Escalante this week, minus me. I hate obligations.
