One of the benefits of living in Ogden (and there are only a few...) is Farr's ice cream shop. They have 304584 flavors and they are all delicious. Brownies on the Moon is a person favorite of mine. Nathan and I have been visiting there on the regular. The last time we went there was this huge biker gang parked all in a row out front and right as we pulled in they all revved up their engines and drove off. They were so cool. I wanted to join them but we don't have a motorcycle. *yet*
See, we are biker gang material.
And no summer has ever been complete without the Strawberry Days Rodeo! The strawberries and cream are A++++
It has become a bit of a tradition for this crowd to all go to Strawberry Days together! Hopefully we can continue that for many years to come.
Yeehaw.
This week my aunt Tawna is in town clear from Derby, KS. I have always loved hanging out with my aunts, uncles and cousins, and so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to go to Lagoon with a bunch of them! My extended family seems to be a lot closer to one another in comparison to other families, I've noticed. Which is cool because that means I have like 30 more friends than I would otherwise.
Hollie, Shelby, Jessie and me!
To my Utah friends out there, have you guys ridden Cannibal yet??? That roller coaster is AWESOME. That initial drop is like... wow. My hands were sweating so bad I was so nervous to ride it, but what a thrill. I'm not normally a roller coaster type person but Cannibal is freakin awesome! We rode it 4 times!
This week has been way busy getting ready for my little sister's reception and so Melon an I have been at mom's house almost every day! He loves it though because there's other dogs to play with and lots and lots of yard to run around in! That's something I really hate about being in an apartment. No yard. And the grass is questionable at our complex because we are 'pet friendly' and let's be honest the grass has way to much poo and pee on it to justify lounging out on it. So we avoid that.
Like I mentioned my little sister's reception was this week! I got the privilege of putting all the floral arrangements together. This was such a fun project for me because I got to use tropical flowers! Which I've never done before.
I didn't take any pictures on my iPhone of the reception... but it was pretty neat! She's getting married in Hawaii next month so we did a luau theme for the reception. My mom rented a snow cone truck and we have big white tents with twinkle lights! And of course island music and tiki torches. It was pretty cool.
Other than the above adventures we have had a fairly typical summer. Mostly work, work, work and school! I'm glad I have this blog though because documenting makes me realize that there are lots of fun activities intermingled with the not so fun stuff.

first of all, i MISS the rodeo! wish we were eating strawberries and cream! second of all, did you learn to arrange flowers just from youtube? or did you teach yoruself? take classes? i'm asking because i did the flowers for a friends shower this weekend and now i'm like, wait...i want to do more of this!
ReplyDeleteI originally was a floral design major in school! Then I worked at a floral shop for a while. I'd say mostly self taught though - practice, practice!
