I've got this grandpa, and he's a cowboy. Has been all his life. I mean the man wears wranglers and elk skin cowboy boots for heaven's sake, and until recently had a big huge bushy handle bar mustache. My grandma is a real sweet lady, and she's pretty much the opposite of my grandpa personality wise. She loves to talk and laugh and have fun, while my grandpa is really calm and quiet, he mostly likes to sit back and think about things, and for whatever reason hates everything to do with Lehi. They live just down the street from us in a little wooden house painted green with a sign hanging above the door that says "Here lives a cowboy with the deer of his life." There's a bunch of grapevines growing over the wooden fence around the yard and in the back there's a horse pasture and a big barn with a tin roof. I love it there! When I was growing up my grandma used to babysit us all the time while my mom was at work so we'd go over there and make cookies and when the irrigation ditch was on we'd run around in the grass flooded with water. I love my grandparents so much. They're such simple people, and they live such simple lives. Ya know those kind of people that find joy in sitting on the front porch and watching the sun go down, not even having to say a word to one another? Ya that's them. They don't have cell phones, they don't have a computer, they don't go on expensive vacations and they don't wear fancy shmancy clothes - but they've got their big bear of a dog named Dodger, their friends and their small little family, and that brings them all the happiness in the world.
Oh gosh I hope that's how I can be someday! Living a quiet life with my family and friends. Sitting on the back porch swing watching my kids and garden grow. Now that's the life right there man!
Just livin on love.
